From the window

It's been raining: muchly. The creek, efficient, is running with the singular determination of a freight train keen to transport the deluge elsewhere. The frogs are in full shrieking party mode; the birds are sitting bedraggled, awaiting their turn to sing to a returning sun whilst the trees uncoil their perfumed oil and I soak it all in through my open window.

14 Good eggs say hi *!*:

we are being cooked over here so please could you send a few raindrops over to us? we would appreciate that. Muchly!

how do you cope with so much rain?

Wouldn't it be great to be able to do a bit of a swap with the weather, especially when we get too much of one type. I think we are in for more of this over the next coming days. Not much we can do but sit it out our roads are ok so we can get to the local shops for the essentials. It's just part of the weather pattern over here - all the same I'll be glad when it eases ... upside is that it feels cool and I can enjoy a mug of hot chocolate ;)

I can't bear to think of poor old Queensland going through all that rain again. I hope you're well above flood level.

I can feel your contentment, Annie. I think rain has a way of slowing down people and at least for me the sound of rain is comforting. Of course yes to hot coffee, tea, soup

Always nice to visit you here

Elsie, we're enjoying a break from the rain and hoping it will stay dry for the most of today to let some of the soggy ground drain away ... but it's that time of year and there's more to come over the next few days.

Baino, A lot of the organised events for today have been cancelled - those frogs do like to be heard don't they :)

Kj, yes if it's nice steady soaking in rain but what has been falling over the last couple of days has been too much in too short a time.

Baino,

i thought the first foto was of a peacock but then i read the caption and saw it is a brush turkey!

we have lorikeets in our zoo - cannot imagine just walking outside and seeing all that color in my tree!

happy new year, annie - so good to 'see' you!

xo

Amanda, the amazing thing is that some days you would think the trees were empty of birds - even with all that spectrum of colour its not until they make a noise or movement do you see them!

beautiful words, beautiful birds :))
and i love this title, bimbimbie, and its meaning; it reminds me of the e.e.cummings line, "your head is a living forest full of songbirds"

:D

That's a lovely image he conjures up in that line :)

can brush turkeys fly then?

Bimbimbie said...

Only for short ungainly bursts to get out of danger, pretty speedy on their pins though Gleds*!*
